Chris Khoo, from Billingshurst, will now attend Robinson College Cambridge to study Natural Sciences after his exam success.

The 18-year-old said that he thought there might have been a mistake when he first saw his results at the Billingshurst school last week.

He said: “I found out I had got into Cambridge at 8am in the morning. I told my parents and they were really happy.

“I went into school pretty promptly, and I thought there was a mistake on the letter!”

Chris admitted that receiving his excellent results was ‘quite awkward’ as some other students were unhappy with their own results.

He added: “It is a bit unbelievable - I surprised myself. I didn’t think on results day that would be the outcome I was going to get.

“I was excited but not particularly relieved, because I knew it would be okay whichever way it went, but it went really well.

“It is fantastic and very exciting to be going to one of the best colleges (at Cambridge).”
