Coronavirus: Latest figures for confirmed cases and hospital deaths in East Sussex

The latest coronavirus figures for East Sussex have been revealed.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in East Sussex now stands at 499, increasing from 479 on Friday, according to Public Health England.

In Brighton and Hove, the number of confirmed cases currently stands at 339.

A total of 57 people have died with the virus at hospitals operated by the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Across the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, a total of 96 people have died.

These figures do not include those who have died outside of hospital, such as in care homes or at home.

Latest Government figures show there are now 148,377 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, with 20,319 people sadly dying in hospital.
