Concerns over how vulnerable people in community will cope with self-isolation and strained local services, the team at Chichester Community Development Trust have devised a plan, with the hope of reaching people who most need the support.

The support will include food shopping and deliveries, collection of medication, putting bins out and dog walking and will be available to people living in Graylingwell Park, Rousillon Park and Keepers Green.

Claire Robinson, partnerships coordinator at CCDT, said: "Across Graylingwell, Rousillon Park and Keepers Green we have got a volunteer team together and we are asking people to join.

"It involves delivering and collecting goods for people. We are in the process of a neighbourhood survey asking people about what they need from the community and how we can help them.

"It was remarkable how many people said they feel isolated so we already knew that this was something that was needed. We will putting out these offers of support.

"It is amazing how many positive responses we have had with people saying how grateful they are."
