Coronavirus: Number of hospital deaths and confirmed cases in West Sussex rise

According to the latest figures from NHS England, 249 people have now sadly died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, as of April 24.
Today's statistics show an increase of 17 fatalities from Wednesday (April 22).

Hide AdNHS England figures do not include those who have died outside of hospital, such as in care homes or at home.
The latest NHS England figures for trusts serving West Sussex, as of April 24, are as follows:
- Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 66 deaths
- Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust - 13 deaths
- Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust - 170 deaths
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in West Sussex now stands at 974, increasing from 910 on Wednesday, according to Public Health England.
Latest Government figures show there are now 143,464 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, with 19,506 people sadly dying in hospital.
