A couple who drove from Crawley to Beachy Head for exercise have been fined by police.

The man and woman were given fixed penalty notices on Sunday (February 28) after they travelled more than 40 miles to the coast for a walk.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said, “While exercise is permitted under the government’s coronavirus regulations, it should be done within an area local to a person’s home.”
