Covid infection rates plummet in Horsham, Crawley and Mid Sussex

Infection rates have plummeted still further in Horsham District, the latest Government data show.

In the seven days to Tuesday, February 9, 209 people tested positive for coronavirus – 79 fewer than the week before.

The rate per 100,000 people has now dropped to 145.3.

In Crawley, 310 people tested positive, a drop of 160 on the previous seven days. This is a rate of 275.8.

In Mid Sussex, 148 positive tests have been recorded – compared to 266 in the previous seven days. This works out at a rate of 98.

Since the start of the pandemic Horsham has registered a total of 5,282 cases, Mid Sussex has registered 6,330 and Crawley 7,166.

In Horsham 179 people have died within 28 days of a positive test, an increase of nine in the last seven days.

In Mid Sussex 235 people have died, an increase of 14. In Crawley 167 people have lost their lives, an increase of 13, Government data show.
