The tier system, which was largely based on infection rates, has been temporarily abandoned in favour of a blanket approach aimed at stopping the spread everywhere in the country.

Figures across East Sussex show an almost universal slowing of the virus' spread, with infection rates falling in all but one area between the weeks commencing October 21 and October 28. Across Sussex, the rate of infection has dropped overall.
