East Sussex coronavirus deaths and infection numbers: latest Government figures

The figures, published yesterday (May 9) by NHS England, showed that there were no new deaths of patients in hospitals in East Sussex that had tested positive for Covid-19 at time of death on Friday (May 8).

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust had 110 coronavirus deaths to date and East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs hospitals in Eastbourne and Hastings, had 68.

The amount of confirmed coronavirus cases in East Sussex as of yesterday was 646.

These figures do not include deaths in care homes, which are published separately.

Nationally, there have been 31,587 coronavirus deaths, with 346 people dying from the disease on May 9.
