Twin sisters Rita and Gita Deb, who went to St Catherine’s College, are junior doctors at Ealing Hospital in London, one of the worst affected boroughs in the city.

Deputy headteacher at St Catherine’s College Nigel Jewell said, “I know I speak for everyone at the school when I say how proud we all are of Rita and Gita during a time of almost unimaginable intensity and pressure in our hospitals.

“The work that all our NHS workers have been doing is quite remarkable and to see two former students, who are also twin sisters, on the frontline fills us all with immense pride.

“I’ve no doubt our current students will be inspired by Rita and Gita and that they will both be outstanding doctors.”
