What tier will East Sussex be in?

The Government has not yet announced which tier East Sussex will be in when lockdown ends in England on December 2.

Earlier this week, the Government said the three-tier system which was in place before the second lockdown would continue once this lockdown comes to an end.

Plans for each tier are due to be announced on Thursday (November 26).

The three tiers are medium (tier 1), high (tier 2) and very high (tier 3).

Before the second lockdown started, East Sussex was in tier 1.

In tier 1, people can follow the rule of six if meeting indoors or outdoors, pubs and restaurants will shut at 11pm (rather than the previous 10pm), travel will be minimised and people advised to work from home where possible, spectators will be allowed at sports events in limited numbers, and personal care including hairdressing will be allowed.

In tier 2, there will be no household mixing, rule of six will only apply outdoors, pubs and restaurants to shut at 11pm, alcohol can only be served with a meal, and spectators at sporting events will be restricted further.
