The Anchorage care home in Pulborough said it had been ‘extremely fortunate’ to be one of the first care homes in West Sussex to be given the Covid Virus Pfizer vaccine.

A spokesman said: “Initially this vaccine was not suitable to be transferred between sites and was supplied to the Pulborough Medical Group in a 975-dose pack, which could not be administered outside the medical practice.

“However, Pfizer developed a 75-dose pack specifically for use in care and nursing homes which can be transferred safely.”
