We Are Worthing looks to capture the faces and stories of the people that shaped the past year. Worthing Theatres and Museum are asking the public from across Sussex to submit photographs of the people who have impacted their lives during the pandemic, along with a short description of why the person matters to them or made a difference to the community.

CEO Amanda O’Reilly said: “The last year has been full of unprecedented challenges and we have learnt that sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference. We are excited that the We Are Worthing project offers a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the people who matter to them, whether they are friends, family, neighbours or colleagues. We want to hear your stories.

“So if there is someone in Sussex who has impacted your life in a positive way during lockdown – it could be someone who amazed you with their dedication and hard work protecting and caring for the community, someone who cheered you up on a weekly Zoom call, a neighbour who dropped off your shopping or inspired you by taking up couch to 5K – this is your chance to say an extra special thank you and let them know how important they are to you by nominating them as your pandemic hero.”

Head of curation and engagement Gerry Connolly added: “We are excited to be able to capture moments and memories from an extraordinary last year and celebrate the amazing people that make up our community and their stories from lockdown.”

The deadline is May 16. Photographs should be front-facing passport style and the highest quality possible accompanied by a short explanation (30-50 words). www.wtam.uk/weareworthing.
