Doctors’ surgery is found to be ‘good’ in all areas

A LITTLEHAMPTON doctors’ surgery has been rated good in all areas by the body that inspects and regulates health services.

Arun Medical Group, in East Street, Littlehampton, was inspected by the CQC (Care Quality Commission) on January 21.

In the report of the visit, published last week, it said inspectors found the surgery to be good in its provision of a safe, effective, caring and well-led service and was also good at being responsive to people’s needs.

The report stated: “The practice understood the needs of the local population and engaged effectively with other services.

“There was a culture of openness and transparency within the practice and staff told us they felt supported. The practice was committed to providing high quality patient care and patients told us they felt the practice was caring and responsive to their needs.”

It also found GPs had their own patient lists and where possible encouraged continuity of care by patients seeing their named GP, there were a range of appointments to suit most patients’ needs, there was evidence the practice was listening to its patients and responding to any concerns or suggestions in a timely and effective manner.

The practice encompasses the River Ward and Ham Ward districts. It has approximately 7,060 patients registered, with a team of two GP partners and a nurse partner.
