Aspen Place Care Home has designed and created the special meeting room with a protective glass screen and fitted an audio voice system.

It means residents can again see and talk to their loved ones after nearly four months of being kept apart because of the Covid-19 crisis.

A spokesman said: “Since early March when Aspen Place made the extremely difficult decision to close its doors to families and friends visiting, it was doing so to protect its dear residents from the coronavirus.

“It has now been nearly four months and it was time that the management team at Aspen Place had to do something to allow these families to come together somehow and safely.

“The light and airy ‘Covid Secure Family Room’ is fitted with an audio voice system and a protective glass screen to keep the visitors safe as well as the residents.

“The residents’ families have hugely appreciated this and are so happy to see their loved ones once again.”
