Public quizzed on healthy lifestyle

WHAT help do you want and expect when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

This is the question West Sussex County Council is asking in a new survey.

The county council wants to enable people to do what they can for themselves in order to stay healthy and active as well as providing the earliest possible support to those with health needs.

To help achieve this the county council is working with West Sussex Primary Care Trust and district and borough councils to develop new Health and Wellbeing Hubs.

The Hubs will offer information, help and advice with things like quitting smoking, eating a more balanced diet or improving people’s emotional and mental wellbeing.

Louise Goldsmith, leader of West Sussex County Council, said: “We want to help local communities live happier, healthier and longer lives. This survey will give us an insight into what people want and need so we can make sure we are doing as much as we can to achieve this.”

You can take part in the survey online at www.westsussex.gov.uk/haveyoursay or by phoning 01243 777100 and requesting a paper copy and you have until July 31 to take part.

At the end of the survey there will be an opportunity for people to join the West Sussex Residents’ e-Panel - an online group who are regularly asked for opinions and views on a range of topics. Find out more about joining the e-Panel at www.westsussex.gov.uk/residentspanel
