Rebecca Hoedemaker, a resuscitation practitioner, emailed Bonds Confectionary of London to suggest it makes a packet of fruit chews solely in Rebecca’s favourite flavours - strawberry and raspberry.

Rebecca told them, “Your fruit chews are probably the best sweets I have ever eaten.”

She also said how they would often get her through a long shift at the hospital to ‘satisfy her sweet cravings’.

The email was sent as a joke after she got a packet with no strawberry sweets in. But to Rebecca’s surprise, she got a reply two hours later from the company.

Bonds Confectionary said, “We have sent you a little surprise to keep your blood sugar topped up, which we hope you will share with your colleagues.”

The surprise was a selection of Bonds sweets delivered to the hospital.

Rebecca said how busy it is at the moment being an NHS worker, so something like this really lifts spirits.

She said, “It’s really lovely, I couldn’t believe it.”
