Each of the 52 cards suggest a silly, fun and random act for families to do together, all designed to get people laughing and creating some memorable moments along the way.

“When I was first diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2018, having some fun as a family became a way for us to cope with the situation. My kids had the idea that if we were feeling low and needed some smiles, we could do something silly together, like run into the sea with our shoes off or stick googly eyes on bits of fruit!

“We then began involving friends and family, who joined in wholeheartedly, and soon we were holding Random Acts of Nonsense (RAON) events and challenges to raise money for Macmillan and other cancer charities, and even a performance at the Brighton Fringe last year!

“We're now launching this deck of RAON cards during October which is Breast Cancer awareness month, specifically on Secondary Breast Cancer Day, which is October 13.

“Our hope is that these cards help other families, perhaps facing difficulties of their own, to smile, laugh and create memories by doing daft things together. It seems with the way the world is at the moment, maybe everyone could do with a little RAON in their lives!”

Random Acts of Nonsense cards will be available from Tuesday, October 13, priced at £12 (exclusive of postage & packing), with £1 of every sale donated to the Making 2nds Count charity.

Lesley is pictured with her husband John Rice and children Ailsa Rice, aged nine, and Mackenzie Rice, aged 11.

“Our pack of cards are based on the four of us. We each have a suit. It is a family affair. We started the idea of doing random things to make use smile on the day I was diagnosed on August 16 2018. I am grateful that after two years my medication is keeping me stable.”
