The imposing building was built in 1884. The site in West Hill Road, St Leonards on Sea, was given by the Eversfield Estate. It was a private hospital for wealthy patients, attracted by its setting on the cliff edge with views out to sea and plenty of fresh sea air. The hospital became part of the NHS in 1948 as the Eversfield Chest Hospital and became part of the Conquest Hospital in 1980s. These pictures, from 2009 to 2021, show its fall into disrepair.
