NOSTALGIA: Old Eastbourne hospital staff photos and model village postcards
Readers are continuing to send in some great photographs of Eastbourne from years goneby. Richard Jeans discovered some old pictures of NHS staff while Tony Dalby found postcards of the old model village at the Redoubt while going through his late father-in-law’s belongings. The photos include a maintenance staff outing taken in the 1950s at St Mary’s Hospital; domestic staff at the newly opened DGH in the 1970s; hospital maintenance staff who built the new extension to the Path Lab at St Mary’s; maintenance staff at All Saints Hospital in 1971 after completion of the new extension which became Briggs Ward and images of the model village at the Redoubt.
