A unique slant on sculpture

Preview: “You will know when the time comes” by Craig Hudson. The blackShed Gallery, Unit 3b, Russet Farm, Redlands Lane, Robertsbridge. July 28 to August 31. Free.

AFTER recently appearing on the BBC2 series Show me the Monet, artist Craig Hudson is launching newly commissioned work for the blackShed Gallery.

He was one of just 100 artists short-listed from thousands of submissions to present his work to a panel of no nonsense art experts searching for great work from professionals and amateurs.

Craig is a figurative sculptor who works in bronze, and models his ideas from real life experience.

His bronze sculptures are crude and ironic, with exaggerated limbs and figurative gestures of thought provoking empowerment.

Craig first showed his work at the 2011 Battle Art Fair, and his unique slant on making sculpture was quickly picked up by curator and gallery owner Kenton Lowe.

Since then Craig has had a string of London shows and the blackShed has been behind him along the way.

He will be launching his new work at the gallery on July 28 between 2pm and 5pm. Anyone is welcome to drop in, meet the artist and browse the 15 pieces on show.
