That’s how many accolades the Haskins Garden Centre at Roundstone picked up from the annual Garden Centres Association (GCA) awards for the South Thames region, just over a year after the centre opened its doors to the public following a complete redevelopment of the site.

The Haskins team who attended a presentation in Kent returned with a highly commended certificate for the overall centre, and merit certificates for car park and approach, customer service points, the website and a telephone survey.

The ratings followed a series of strict audits carried out by the GCA inspectors.

Dean Ridley, retail operations manager for the Haskins group, was delighted that the centre received such a range of recognition.

He said: “The awards not only confirm that the new centre is of a high standard, but celebrate the professionalism of the team that bring the centre to life for customers with their excellent customer service, advice and knowledge.”

The new, £12m centre was opened on the 15-acre site in March. 2012. Turnover at the centre, which has become a popular destination for people from across the south of England and has a 500-seat restaurant, now exceeds £8.5m per annum.
