Battle Rocks - and that’s official

THERE will be a party atmosphere in Battle with a weekend of live music to mark the end of Battle’s Big Event.

Battle Rocks will see a number of artists take to a stage on the North Trade Road recreation ground to help see the town’s community festival of art and culture out with a bang.

Virgin Soldiers, whose members hail from Battle, Hastings and Kent, will be headlining the event and will perform at around 7-7.30pm tomorrow (Saturday).

Back in July, Virgin Soldiers, who recently released their debut single Moon Song, supported Battle boys Keane at the Hastings Beer and Music Festival.

Other artists on the bill over the two days include Sonic Oblivion, SKA’d For Life, 1066 Rockit Men, Duke Box, Which Blair Project, Slam, Howlin Blues, Pete Prescott and Phil Hudson, Victoria Howarth Jazz Band, Jazz Quintet and Titus.

The gigs will take place between 6.30-11pm today (Friday) and 3-11pm tomorrow (Saturday).

Gates will open approximately one hour before the music starts.

Saturday night will include a 10 minute firework display, courtesy of Battel Bonfire Boyes.

The event will be raising money for Demelza House, James Ward at the Conquest Hospital and Battle Bonfire Boys.

Tickets cost £12.50 (£10 in advance) or £22.50 (£17.50 in advance) for both days.
