AN AUTHOR and member of iconic chocolate producing family Cadbury’s will be visiting Lewes this month to give a talk.
Deborah Cadbury, who is a historian and writer, will discuss her recently published book ‘Chocolate Wars’ and outline the 200 years from the start of one of Britain’s best-loved manufacturers.
She will speak of the philanthropic creation of Bourneville Village for the workforce, to the gradual succumbing to commercial pressures and the sale of Cadbury’s to Kraft.
Deborah will also discuss Gideon Mantell, the Lewes born paleontologist, who was the subject of her previous book, ‘The Dinosaur Hunters’.
The event starts at 6.30pm on Thursday, May 19, at the Friends Meeting House, Friars Walk, Lewes. Entry is free.
