Christmas adverts have become something of a phenomenon, with different companies and brands competing to pull on heartstrings and spread the most festive spirit.
One brand synonymous with Christmas time is Coca-Cola, and many feel that it’s not really Christmas until you see the soft drinks company’s advert on TV.
This year’s Coca-Cola advert - directed by Oscar winner Taika Wititi - follows the story of a man who, when heading out to work, is stopped by his daughter. She gives him a letter for Santa that she wants to be posted.
Busy at work, the man forgets to post the letter, and so he embarks on an epic journey to ensure that it is safely delivered to Santa himself.
When will the advert play on TV?
The advert will air in the UK from December, as well as being shown globally in 91 countries around the world.
The campaign is called The Letter, and it encourages people to truly be together this Christmas with its tagline, “Give something only you can give - yourself.”
Coca-Cola Great Britain marketing director Kris Robbens said, “This year, the Christmas season is set to be more meaningful than ever before. As a company, Coca-Cola has been celebrating the festive season through our advertising since the 1920s, featuring uplifting messages of unity and joy.
“Our new advert reflects the real magic of Christmas - our greater appreciation for loved ones, a sense of community and our need to be present with each other this Christmas, above all else.”
