For this tour, he has spawned almost a new genre-folk-funk.

The Guardian says, of his new album: “Richard Thompson is still at the top of his game, a remarkable guitarist and songwriter driven by a furious passion and urgency”.

Rolling Stone Magazine has hailed him as ‘a perennial dark-horse contender for the title of greatest living rock guitarist’.

He was awarded the Orville H Gibson award for best acoustic guitar player in 1991, has won an Ivor Novello Award, and, in 2006, a lifetime achievement award from BBC Radio.
