REG YARROW was the grand old man of Lewes local politics. He was a friend to everyone and had more than a liking for Harveys Bitter.
This Express photograph shows him some 20 years ago at the bottom of Keere Street (where he lived) during one of his rare fitness regimes.
Reg was always very kind to the Rouser and a great source of local news at council meetings.
Married to Gladys, during his long career in local government in the town, he was mayor four times (1984 the most recent) and was awarded the MBE.
He died in July, 2000. His name lives on in the Reg Yarrow Room at Lewes Town Hall.
