Yesterday (March 1) Sovereign Harbour began their annual maintenance programme which started on lock one.

The lock, which is the one furthest from the marina reception, will be shut for approximately five weeks and will be dewatered, visually inspected and have routine repairs carried out by the Premier maintenance team to ensure it runs smoothly and safely ahead of the upcoming season.

As the maintenance programme alternates between the two marina locks, lock two will remain fully operational, thereby minimising the risk of disruption to berth holders during this time.

Pedestrian walkways surrounding lock one will also be closed on the last day of the five weeks to allow maintenance teams to facilitate access for any necessary fencing.

A spokesperson for Premier Marinas said, “Thank you for your patience and understanding as we carry out these important works.

“If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the marina reception on 01323 470 099.”
