AUSTRALIAN soprano Martine Grimson offers the next recital at the Bognor Regis Music Club on Saturday, April 2, accompanied by Simon Lepper.
Martine graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before moving to London where she completed her studies at the Royal College of Music’s Benjamin Britten School and at the National Opera Studio. In 2006 she was awarded second prize in the Kathleen Ferrier Competition.
She has given recitals at the Aldeburgh Festival, Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Fairfield Hall and the Harrogate Festival.
Simon Lepper is well known to the club, having accompanied Mark Padmore at previous recitals. He studied at Kings College Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. He has appeared as soloist or accompanist at all the major London venues.
Club spokesman Chris Coote said: “We are delighted to welcome back two old friends of the club and are looking forward to their varied programme, which will include arias by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti, and songs from 20th century musicals. ”
The concert is at the Club’s concert room, 2 Sudley Road starting at 7.30pm. Entry at the door is £7 for members (£9 visitors), and new members are especially welcome. More details on 01243 822757/261373 or from the website www.BognorRegisMusic.org.uk.
