A fascinating little publication called Downland Churches, dated January, 1975, has come Rouser’s way. It provides news on the activities of Ouse Valley churches during the period.
The re-building of the churchyard wall at Beddingham was completed just before Christmas and it is now possible to appreciate both the extent of the work and the skill with which it has been undertaken.
A plaque to the memory of the late Rev Stewart Mathias has been placed in the Lady Chapel at Alfriston with Lullington, the cost of which has been met by an anonymous donor.
And at Litlington with West Dean: 1975 is certain to be a difficult year - rising costs, the economic climate, shortages. It calls for great determination from us all.
