The steps at Birling Gap have reopened after closing for maintenance last week.

The steps had closed on April 19 and were originally due to reopen next week.
A spokesperson for Wealden District Council said, “We are pleased to confirm that the Birling Gap steps reopened ahead of schedule this morning (April 30) at 08.30am.
“Work to redeck the top section of the staircase is complete. The beach, with stunning views of the Seven Sisters, is safe to enjoy this bank holiday weekend.”
