Richard Williamson to speak at Midhurst Society meeting

THE Observer's country writer Richard Williamson is the speaker at Thursday's (May 24) meeting of the Midhurst Society.

While he was warden at Kingley Vale over a period of 30 years he achieved two records with the longest running bird and butterfly counts in Britain.

He will be sharing his extensive knowledge of the Downs and surrounding countryside in all seasons at the Midhurst Rother College Memorial Hall, Midhurst, in an illustrated lecture on the South Downs and Chichester Harbour in the spring.

The charge for entry is £2 for members or £4 for non-members, payable at the door. The lecture starts at 7pm.
