New ‘mousical’ in Worthing

Children’s book and television favourite Angelina Ballerina performs live on stage in her brand new ‘mousical’ when the dancing mouse visits Worthing Pavilion Theatre for the first time from October 26-27.

The all-singing, all-dancing musical theatre show is suitable for everyone over three-

years-old and theatrically transports audiences to Chipping Cheddar where Angelina and her friends discover that Camembert Academy has won the opportunity to appear in their favourite television programme, Dancing with Mice.

It feels like a dream come true until the girls and boys at the academy discover they cannot agree on anything and as their dance captain, Angelina must ensure the show goes ahead.

The dancing mouse must work hard to reach her goals and learn from her mistakes but in doing so she may be able to inspire young audiences to chase their big dreams too.

The Worthing date of Angelina Ballerina The Mousical will include dancers from West Sussex who attend Croydon’s Dance Studio 84 and Bright Sparks Performers’ Theatre and Dance Academy. They have chosen boys and girls aged five to eight who are learning ballet or contemporary dance.

The young dancers will join the cast on stage to perform in the grand finale, entitled Ballet Girls and Hip Hop Boys.

The new show is based on the series by award-winning children’s author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig. The Angelina Ballerina series was first launched in 1983 and the endearing mouse has since taken part in over 20 book-based adventures and has starred in her own animated television series broadcast in the UK and the US.
