10 pets rescued from blaze

A TOTAL of 10 pets had be rescued from a house in Lancing during a fire on Sunday evening.

Eight cats and two dogs were saved by fire fighters after a tumble dryer fire at a semi-detached bungalow in Greet Road.

The fire service were called to the property around 6.45pm.

Two crews from Worthing attended the scene, along with a Red Cross Support Unit.

The ground-floor utility room was severely damaged and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was accidental.
