100% success for Bexhill High pupils

Bexhill High pupils have achieved 100% success in a new British Safety Council qualification in workplace safety.

They are among the first in the country to sit the Level One exam which is the equivalent of GCSE and will help in future employment.

Science teacher Sarah-Jane Bigby, who launched the pioneer course at Bexhill High, was so delighted with their results that she contacted the Observer to give her reaction.

Sarah-Jane was informed by Adam Skeens, director of Qualifications at the British Safety Council, that all 14 students had passed.

They were Jonathan Paulin, Gavin Corsi, Daniel Miller, Jamie Stretton, Bradleigh and Rhys Law, Jamie Goodwin, Connor McKeown, Dan Oakley, Marcus Coda, Matthew Corney, Tom Bevan, Nicola Everley and Jesse Martin.

Sarah-Jane said: "100% passes, how wonderful.

"These students have gone out of their way to put in extra hours after school and at weekends and they have reaped their rewards.

"These students have shown just what is possible by sheer hard work and determination, it has been a pleasure to teach them Entry 3 and Level 1 Health and Safety and they truly are an inspiration to others."
