1066 Specials fundraising weekend

The bumper weekend of fundraising by 1066 Specials football club achieved almost £2,500.

The charity held a spring fair and bootsale at St Richard's catholic college followed by a tournament on Sunday.

Organiser Jan Wyatt commented: "We are really pleased. We made 1,600 on Saturday and the tournament we held meant more money coming in, with the teams each paying to enter it."

An added bonus was that her husband Brian spoke about the club's activities on BBC Radio Sussex with the result that an 80 year old celebrating her birthday asked instead of presents to have donations made to the club.
