1066 walkers hope to raise £5,000 for Rotary and hospice

THERE was a fantastic turn out at the fundraising 1066 Walk recently.

The September 29 event, co-organised by The Rotary Club of Battle and St Michael’s Hospice, saw 200 people walking 16, nine or four miles.

The Rotary Club and the hospice are hoping to raise around £5,000 for the two organisations as the walkers’ sponsorship rolls in.

On the day the sun shone, the cakes were delicious and Battle Abbey School were very generous, supporting the walk and allowing the walkers to have their well-earned refreshments at the school.
