18-year-old raises money for hospice in memory of gran

An 18-year-old man with special needs has raised funds with his loom band creations for St Michael’s Hospice in memory of his grandmother.

Tim Carter began making loom band wristbands two weeks ago and selling them to friends and family, raising £37 for the hospice.

Susan Lancaster, Tim’s mother, said: “My mother died of a cancer earlier this year and she was at St Michael’s Hospice. They did an amazing job and Tim’s doing this for the hospice in her memory. The hospice did so much for her and this family.”

Marcia Dart, fundraising team leader, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Tim has decided to support the hospice, it’s lovely to have someone as young as Tim do something so nice for us when there are many other charities out there. We would like to say thanks for his huge effort, we’re amazed he raised so much money from selling loom bands, we really are very grateful.”

Tim has so far been using his own pocket money to buy the loom bands but Susan is urging
