2009 New Year Honours announced

CRICKET commentator Christopher Martin-Jenkins is among the people in West Sussex who have been recognised in the 2009 New Year Honours List.

The Radio 4 broadcasting icon and journalist, who lives at Rudgwick, was made an MBE for services to sport.

The former Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex Hugh Wyatt was created a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order for services to the Queen and other members of the Royal Family.
