20mph limit for street mooted

The lower limit is being considered for Longford Road where vehicles crashed into homes twice in 30 months.

West Sussex County Council will find out peoples' views to drivers being limited to 20mph. A new road layout is also being considered.

A draft scheme has been prepared by the council's traffic calming team.

Longford Road's limit is currently 30mph but the lower limit is possible after changes to the speed limit criteria used by the council.

Bollards, red surfacing and 'slow' markings have been installed to make conditions safer.
