60s pop star at Yapton fete

Sixties pop star John Leyton is set to appear at a Yapton fete in aid of wounded service personnel.

The singer, who reached number one with Jonny Remember Me and who also starred in The Great Escape, is due to take part in the event in aid of Help for Heroes.

He is also supplying pre-signed memorabilia for the fete at 1pm on August 15 at Church Farm Mews, Church Road in Yapton.

It will also feature clothes stalls, cake sales, bric-a-brac and a barbecue.

All the proceeds will go to Help for Heroes.

The fundraiser has been arranged by former sailor Michael Clayton from Felpham.
