A celebration of Adult Learning

To celebrate Adult Learners’ Week the Adult Education Department at Claverham Community College in Battle invited their creative arts and crafts students to exhibit their work. Students from our Adults with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities courses also displayed their work.

The evening was a huge success with a wide variety of exhibits which included silver work and ornate jewellery, quilting, floristry arrangements, photography, wood carvings and greenwood garden sculptures as well as completed art work ranging from flower painting to landscapes.

The standard of the work on show was outstanding and all of those who took the time to display their work can be justifiably proud as should their tutors.

For many of the students this was the first opportunity that they have had to show their work and the reaction from family, friends and the Governors of the College who attended the evening was uplifting. Many of the learners were beginners and it showed remarkable confidence in their ability to display their work to others.

The College looks forward to September when existing as well as new students will be given the opportunity to continue on their educational journey. The 2013/14 prospectus will be available towards the end of July and details can be viewed on the Adult Education Department’s website www.claverham-education.co.uk or you can telephone the office on 01424 775375.
