A cut above the rest

THERE was lots of festive fun as traders staged their own shopping event in Southwick Square on Saturday.

The best-dressed window competition was won by Hair Design by Norman. Paula Groves and Zoe Dewhurst are pictured above receiving their trophy from Santa. Bubbles gifts were runners-up.

One-man busking band Don Partridge provided musical entertainment and there was a bouncy castle, children's rides and a popcorn and candyfloss stall.

Father Christmas was kept busy by more than 60 children who visited him throughout the afternoon.

Organiser Beryl Ferrers-Guy said: "It was a bright, sunny day which brought many people out to support the Southwick traders, for which they were extremely grateful.

"All in all, it was a successful day enjoyed by both the traders and shoppers. There was a real Christmasy feel to it."
