A-LEVEL RESULTS: Chichester College

Students' A-level results show Chichester College has, for the fourth year in a row, produced an A-level pass rate of almost 100 per cent.

This year pass rates rose to 98 per cent, a one per cent increase over the previous year. An impressive 23 A-level subjects had achievement rates of 100 per cent; the remainder of the 31 subjects offered had pass rates in excess of 90 per cent.

These included subjects such as mathematics, law, business studies, economics, English literature, film studies, history, human biology, music, music technology and Spanish.

Most importantly, the high grades achieved at A-level this year have risen by a fantastic three per cent compared to last year, with 75 per cent of results being grade A*-C.

Almost half of all students achieved grades A*-B. These high grades give Chichester College students an advantage in getting in to the university of their choice.

Vicki Illingworth, assistant principal for Student Success, said: “We are delighted to have improved our A-level results yet again and are extremely proud of our staff and students and the hard work they have put in to achieve such great success.

“We are the number one college in Sussex for our overall college success rates (2011) and are delighted that our A Level results make such an important contribution to this achievement.”
