A second murderer absconds from Ford Prison

Detectives are seeking to find Paul Flint, 48, who walked out of the prison on July 1 and has not yet been arrested.

Officers are appealing for help tracking Flint, who could be committing crimes in Brighton and Hove.

Flint had convictions for murder and burglary. He was sent to prison in 1990.

The is the second time in as many months that a murder has absconded from the category D open prison.

A police spokesman said Flint could have committed at least three burglaries since he disappeared.

The alleged break-ins all occurred between July 8 and August 5, in the Brighton and Hove area.

More than £2,500 cash was taken along with a black wallet and a black Sony Vaio laptop with the model number VPCEH1L8E/B.

Detective Inspector Dave Richards, of Sussex Police, said: “We think Flint is likely to commit more crime unless he is arrested so I would urge anyone that sees him to contact us immediately.

“Dial 999 but do not approach him.”

Flint is black, 5ft 11in and stocky. He has black greying hair, wears glasses and has an English accent.
