A taste of Africa comes to Goring First School

CHILDREN at Goring First School recently celebrated their links with a primary school in Sierra Leone as part of their annual one world week.

The school holds the event each year so students can learn about the world in which they live.

Dawn Kearney, headteacher at Goring First School said: “The children were learning a lot and having fun while they were doing it.”

The school were also raising funds for a well to be built in Sierra Leone. Activities included sponsored laps around the school field. Altogether over £1,000 was raised.

Dawn added: “We have had letters and pictures saying thank you from the children and parents in Sierra Leone.”
