A touch of green in the new playground

LITTLEHAMPTON children have been getting in touch with their green side, in their brand-new recycled playground.

Ladybirds Nursery, in Linden Park, has been working on the new playground since the start of April, and it is now ready to play in.

As well as tunnels, balancing beams and a sandpit, all made out of recycled tyres, the children are also growing their own fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Helen McCondach, a member of the PTA whose two children, Dylan and Tamzin attend the pre-school, said the children were enjoying the new area.

"It's great to be able to teach them about how to look after the environment. They are the next generation.

"It has been a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun and a really worthwhile project."

The nursery will be holding a summer fete, on June 21 between 10am and 2pm, which will offer many attractions, including welly whanging.
