A26 between Newhaven and Beddingham reopens

The A26 between Newhaven and Beddingham has now reopened after a tree fell on a lorry.

Sussex Police closed the major road in both directions from 10.16am to 1.25pm on Wednesday February 12 from the Beddingham roundabout and South Heighton.

The driver of the lorry was trapped in his cab but was freed. He has minor injuries.

The air ambulance landed but the driver was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, by road ambulance.
