A26 ROADWORKS IN COUNTY TOWN

Major roadworks are to take place on the A26 northbound out of Lewes at Malling Hill.

The res-surfacing work is due to start on February 12 and last for two weeks.

This work has been coordinated with drainage works at the new development at the Clayhill Nursery site in order to reduce disruption to residents, businesses and road users.

Northbound traffic will be diverted via Malling Street, Brooks Road, Southdowns Road, Mayhew Way and Church Lane.

Left turns will be temporarily suspended from Orchard Road, The Spinneys, Southdown Place and Davy's Lane.Right turns will be temporarily suspended from Wheatsheaf Gardens.

Parking will be restricted throughout Malling Hill along with locations on the diversion route in Church Lane and Mayhew Way. Signs will be erected to indicate these locations.

Access for residents may be limited during working hours. During this time access should be arranged locally with the Site Manager or Supervisor.

Access for pedestrians will be mainly unaffected however; it may be restricted from time to time due to movement of plant and equipment.
