A27 CRASH: Man fights for his life

A 45-year-old man is fighting for his life after an horrific accident at the Beddingham Roundabout today (Friday).

The man, from Stone Cross, Pevensey, is in a critical condition and has suffered life threatening injuries.

He was driving a Ford Mondeo which was in collision with a Brighton and Hove City Council refuse truck on the A27.

He was cut from the wreckage of the car and airlifted by Sussex Air Ambulance to Kings College Hospital, London.

The accident happened at 11.50am.

The road was closed until 3.30pm.

The refuse truck driver was not injured but shaken.
