A29 closed at Pulborough due to flooding

The road is closed between the A283 Station Road junction and Old London Road.

Sussex Police said the closure was due to the high levels of the River Arun.

The Environment Agency recorded a river level of 4.15 metres at Swan Bridge in Pulborough at 4.30am today.

The level is just under the highest river level ever recorded there, at 4.47 metres on December 14, 2008.

The typical river level range for the area is between 0.67 metres and 3.71 metres.
